Somali to Mori no Kamisama Episode 6: Review

Since last week’s episode, this anime has been quite dark that we didn’t expected it. The anime feels so calm and cute that we forgot about the extinction of humans in the most disgusting ways. In the first episode we were told about what happened to humans and how they were being treated and those awful feelings were rushed again when Haitora explained what happened to humans.

Thankfully Uzoi did not executed her plan and saves Somali from drowning. Somali’s innocence can warm anyone’s heart. She ignored Uzoi’s intention because she sees her as a friend. She is damn cute. Uzoi realized her wrong doing and nothing went wrong.

While the girls were sleeping we came to know something very tragic. Although Uzoi was listening to them. Haitora is truly courageous because it is hard to endure so much pain. Haitora tells Golem what made Uzoi do what she did. They visited to a fortune teller and were told that Haitor’s blood is contaminated. Golem understands Uzoi as he knows she did it because she loves Haitora. Haitora thinks he does not deserve to be her family. Haitora told Golem that he used to live in village with his wife and daughter along with other humans. They used to live in peace until Grotesques destroyed everything. Haitora was able to run away safely with his family but others couldn’t escape like them. He saw them being abducted and their limbs being sliced off by them. Some of them were also eaten by those creatures. It was scary and hard to imagine. Haitora and had to hide himself and his family so that they would be safe.

Somali to Mori no Kamisama Episode 6: Review

How can I forget about how disgusting it was what we were told by a creature in the episode 1, how they were pet and disgustingly treated. It shows that humans are very rare kind in this world and But why did these people decided to live so freely in village? In a world like this where these kind of creatures are dominating the world, why did they take such a dangerous risk. Probably they find many humans to lie together that they felt safe. But it was a wrong decision.

Haitora and his family was safe while hiding in a cave but on a verge of death due to starvation. He runs into a harpy and without quickly kills her violently. He takes the body of the dead harp to his family so they can feed on her, which made them realize they are no better than Grosteque. Sadly, eating harpy led to a bad condition and their body developed feathers. He survived it, but his wife and daughter couldn’t endure it and died painfully. It must have been painful for Haitora to see them dying in pain especially when he is one to be blamed for that. It was very tragic. Later he came to know that the dead harpy was the mother of Uzoi when little Uzoi came to him asking about her mother.

Somali to Mori no Kamisama Episode 6: Review

I don’t understand why his daughter and wife couldn’t survive like him. It’s been so many years as Uzoi has all grown and he seems old and I think his time is also near. Does it mean that the reaction of eating harpy was greater on women? When Uzoi came to know everything, she couldn’t handle the rush of emotions until Haitora claimed to be killed by caterbird. Uzoi gets angry on him and tells him to live as life is more painful for him than the death. It seems she is still confused about her emotions, but she truly loves Haitora. But it is hard to believe how she is able to live with the person who ate her mother. Their relationship is not going to be the same. I really want to see them more but they are just like other characters and we are following Somali and Golem’s story here so we will meet more characters now. Hopefully, they come across again and Haitora is treated because he is not a bad man. His story is very tragic and so is Uzoi.
