Blood+ is the enigmatic anime with interesting plot. Saya Otonashi needs to modify from an ordinary high school student who requires blood transfusion to a ferocious vampire. Alongside her partner, Haji, they have to fight some violent beasts and cruel organization that wants to rule over the world. With Haji and a cooperative organization called Red Shield by her side, Saya has to achieve what she is destined for and has been dealing with for more than hundred years. It’s her choice whether to ruin the world or keep her humanity for the betterment of the mankind.
It’s not just another mysterious anime with cops and robbers which can be seen in many anime but it is a very rare one which blends with other themes to make it an epic anime. It is a mixture of horror and romance to capture the deep emotions of the viewers in the most intriguing way. Saya Otonashi is an admirable character that you can relate to but can also become a spectacular bad ass. With her newly gained powers she uses her ability in a real way that we all can imagine ourselves in her place. She gradually learns to use her abilities like anyone in the real life will do and does not excel in it abruptly. It’s not just new but also frightening as she likes to live as a normal human being but at the same time scared of the unknown. Her character develops in an organized way that will never bore you even in 50 episodes.
There are several antagonists in the anime but they made them very interesting and evil with some deep cause. Every antagonist has a reason behind their evil actions that is just not for themselves. This makes these characters multi-dimensional and increase the complexity of the anime in general. There are antagonist like Diva and Amshel Goldsmith who are appear repetitively but there are some short lived antagonist too that are not pushover. The antagonists in Blood+ are does not come second in the list of the best antagonists and can be compared to the antagonists of some popular anime like Bleach and Steins;Gate.
There are many reasons to watch this anime and can be listed among the most admirable anime of the past 20 years. Being an old anime it can be compared to the best of new as well as the classics anime of old time. The reasons to watch it is not limited to the few mentioned above but more than that.
