The anime of last year were full of some appealing guys and male characters. Ranging from some common and familiar characters to strong kings and magicians to some total weird characters like amputee samurai. But there are very few who gets stuck in our head and we can’t get over them. Here is the list of those appealing and unforgettable guys we saw in the anime of 2019.
Table of Contents
Hyakkimaru (Dororo)
Everyone likes a strong man but a man with a strong man with swords instead of arms is someone everyone loves. Hyakkimaru is a nomadic fighter who is in search of his body parts which were stolen from him by the demons who are spread all over the feudal Japan. He fights against these demons with his sharp amputee limbs. It’s interesting to see him regaining his humanity gradually as with his humanity, he also develops emotionally. When we reached to the end of the anime, Hyakkimaru is not just a handsome guy but an intelligent and well-mannered guy also. He is one of the best swordsman with great looks and reserved personality.
Prince Canute (Vinland Saga)
Initially, Prince Canute looks like a reserved, dependent noble who is nothing other than a political ragdoll but once he gets mature after watching the terrifying war and pressured to be independent and have faith in himself, Canute is the most appealing character in the whole series. While giving his ‘Father in Heaven’ speech in episode 18, he refuse to follow the negative things he has been taught in his past life and plans to use his power to make heaven on Earth on his own. Even Askeladd mentions that he would like to follow a man like Canute.
Kyo and Yuki (Fruits Basket 1st Season)
The famous anime charters on 90’s return with refined look and in 2019 remake and they look as young as they were back then. With the new and improved character design Kyio and Yuki look great which makes their face expressions and their emotions more clear and compared to the 90s version. Combined with their excellent voice acting, these old characters seems like the once we never knew before. They made us fall for them all over again. We can’t wait to see more of these handsome guys in the upcoming season.
Risotto Nero (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind)
Despite of few appearances toward the end of 2018, the graceful leader of La Squardra Esecuzioni’s glorious moments won our hearts in 2019. When his underlings were brutally killed while making attempts to finding the boss’ identity, Risotto Nero mercilessly seeks revenge — he almost murdered Doppio using his Stand Metallica by making him puke blades and scissors. He is a force to reckon when it comes to get involve with La Squadra. If someone even tries to mess with it, a dark eyed man who looks like clown will smack them to death.
Waver Velvet/Lord El-Melloi II (Lord El-Melloi II Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note)
Waver Valvet did not have a charming personality during Fourth Holy Grail War. He was a coward who was often dependant on his servant Rider and did not have enough faith in himself. But a little transformation with the passage of time can bring a drastic change in anyone. That’s what happen with this character when he grew up and his character developed. Waver became a great professor and a magician known as Lord El-Melloi II. He is a long haired, reserved, well-dressed guy with the knack of resolving complex mysteries. Who would have thought he can turn into such a charming man with great looks. His transformation shows that with some efforts anyone can change.
Some other male characters who are worth mentioning in this list include Mafuyu from Given and Naofumi from Rising of the Shield Hero who are not just good looking but their complex characters made their respective series a lot more interesting than they already are.
