Bakemonogatari

The Nisio Isin novel was first adapted into an anime with Bakemonogatari. Fuyashi To wrote the script, which was directed by Akiyuki Shumbo and Tatsuya Oishi. On July 3rd, 2009, this television series’ debut aired in Japan. There are up to 15 episodes; the first 12 were broadcast on television, and the final three were made available online by June 25th, 2010.

Koyomi Aragagi, a young high school student, was bitten by a vampire in his third year of high school. Fortunately, with the aid of a guy by the name of Meme Oshiro, he was able to return to his human nature, leaving some of the vampire features in him. This book chronicles his journey.

Nisemonogatari

This is the second anime studio version of the novel series, which has had three total adaptations. Additionally, Tomoyuki Itamura, who later directed the rest of the TV series, is directing his debut series. In contrast, the first TV series’ director put more effort into development than any other potential series.

It represents a turning point in the events of Bakemonogatari. With the exception of the fact that this series is more focused on paranormal activities, Koyomi Araragi’s story is continued in this sequel along with his interactions with the other characters in the series. But in this second series, Koyomi Araragi’s two younger sisters, Karen Araragi and Tsukihi Araragi, took centre stage instead of him. In Japan, it was shown from January 8 to March 18. This series havetotal 11 episodes.

Nekomonogatari Kuro

The third studio version of Monogatari is Nekomonogatari Kuro, sometimes referred to as Nekomonogatari Black. On December 31, 2012, it was launched with just four episodes on three separate platforms, including the video hosting website Nico, Nico Douga, and the Japanese TV stations TOKYO MX and BS11.

In this series, it is shown how Tsubasa Hanekawa, a friend of Koyomi Araragi’s whom he regards to as his saviour, started behaving strangely after escaping a vampire attack. Koyomi decided to examine the wound she had acquired after spotting the bandage covering her face, but she reassured him that it was only a small injury she had picked up at home.

However, when a white cat without a tail is struck by a car and killed, Koyomi and Tsubasa bury the animal, which is when difficulties started to emerge. Later, Koyomi Araragi made the choice to go see Meme Oshino and told him everything that had happened earlier in the day. Then he learned that what they had buried was actually an apparition.

Monogatari Series Second Season

This is the fourth time an anime studio has adapted a Monogatari novel. The 26 episodes of this series were shown in Japan from July 6th, 2013, to December 28th, 2013. There are 23 episodes because three of those were recaps.

It covers the first five volumes of the light novels. Sadly, it was modified separately months after the original broadcast and wasn’t part of it. In this tale, the seasons of summer and winter alternated. Around Koyomi Araragi and his companions, odd things were happening.

Koyomi Araragi must choose what career to choose and friends to save as a new semester begins and graduation approaches. But as strange events start to happen, Koyomi vanishes. In Koyomi’s absence, a ferocious tiger appears out of nowhere.

Hanamonogatari

The fifth animation studio rendition of Monogatari is called Hanamonogatari. Hanamonogatari, like Nekomonogatari, only contains five episodes, all of which were made available on August 16, 2014.

Suruga Kanbaru, the protagonist of this book, is in her third year of high school at the time of the events. All of her upperclassmen acquaintances have graduated. A problem-solving demon rumour in the classroom. She discovers that her rainy devil arm has vanished after looking into the matter and encountering this unusual individual. The events of Kizumonogatari were soon followed by those of this series.

Tsukimonogatari

This film immediately follows the broadcast of the Monogatari series’ sixth anime studio adaptation. It debuted on December 31st, 2014, with all four of its episodes, almost identically to Nekomonogatari Black and Hanamonogatari.

As Koyomi Araragi reaches his most trying moment in life, this story is chock-full of tantalising adventures. Koyomi Araragi was in the middle of studying for his exams when he started to notice some odd changes.

His biggest nightmare is about to become reality as the vampire feature in him is starting to emerge. He sought assistance from an eternal oddity expert and a doll that resembled a person in an effort to discover a solution.

Owarimonogatari

The studio’s seventh anime adaptation of Monogatari is called Owarimonogatari. It comprises 20 episodes, the first 13 of which were broadcast in 2015, and the final seven of which were broadcast two years later, in 2017.

The Owarimonogatari novel’s first two volumes are adapted in the first 13 episodes, while the third book is covered in the last seven. It is the first adaptation to ever be made and released in North America on blu-ray volumes.
Because the Western blu-ray volumes of the Owarimonogatari series are divided into three volumes in the same manner as the novel editions, the final seven episodes are referred to as “volume 3.” In this series, it is described how Koyomi Araragi became trapped with a student named Oshino Ougi.

Koyomimonogatari

This was the eighth movie based on the Monogatari anime series, which came after the seventh. Koyomimonogatari in the novels was released before Owarimonogatari, but in the anime adaptation, it was released after and Owarimonogatari.

This time, it was available as an iOS and Android mobile application. A calendar, a few special downloads, and original net animation versions of the anime adaptation’s episodes were also included.

Twelve episodes of this adaptation were shown from January 9th, 2016, to March 26th, 2016. With an average run time of 14 minutes, the episodes in this series are approximately half the length of those in a typical series.

Upon the conclusion of the series on December 31st, 2016, the application stopped functioning. However, Funimation still offers its miniseries for streaming. In this series, Koyomi Araragi is dedicated to supporting his pals as they seek solutions to their issues in both the natural and magical worlds.
