The schedule of Los Angeles festival called The Animation Is Film has been decided and declared. In this festival we can witness the opening of U.S film Weathering With You and also the opening of North American film called Children of the Sea. It will also telecast the debut of West Coast film called Ride Your Wave. It will also broadcast the anime called Cencoroll Connect. So Weathering With You, Children of the Sea, and Ride Your Wave all are going to be in opposition of each other.
Makoto Shinkai the director and Genki Kawamura the producer of Weathering With You along with Ayumu Watanabe director of Children of the Sea are going to be present at the festival for answering all the questions regarding to the films. The films are going to be telecast in Japanese language but there will be English subtitles.
On 19 July in Japan the film Weathering With You was released in 359 theaters and 448 screens. 1,159,020 tickets were bought of this film and it earned 1,643,809,400 yen just in the first three days of 358 theaters. The week in which the film was launched it was at the no:1 position. Ever since the movie has been released about 9.13 million tickets has been acquired and it had earned 12.17 billion yen till now. In Japan this film is now at the 7th position in the category of highest earning films. And this year in Japan it is the uppermost grossing film.
On 8, 10 and 14 of September Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is going to broadcast the North American opening of Weathering With You in their Special Presentation. Ths film is suitable enough to win the Audience Award. This film is proposed by Japan to be in the nomination of the Best International Feature Film category in the 92nd Academy Awards.
This film has been certified by GKIDS for North America and it will also provide this film an awards qualifying by which it can be run in theatres before it will be aired with English dubbing and subtitles in the beginning of 2020.

A boy who is a high school fresher named Hodaka flees away from his isolated home in an island and goes to Tokyo and then he has to face difficulty related to monetary and personal matters. The weather condition in Tokyo is mostly dark and showery like he thinks his future will be. He is lonely but at last he is appointed as a writer in a strange supernatural magazine. One day he crosses his way on a busy road side with a brilliant and strong-minded girl named Hina. She has some out of ordinary but amazing skills. She holds the authority to put a stop on rain rain and to clear the sky.
On 7 June in Japan Children of the Sea was released and got the 5th positioned in its tarting week. The collective amount made by the film is about 316,860,800 yen. In 2019 this film is going to be display in theatres in North America in both Japanese and English by GKIDS.This year’s June this film was telecast on Annecy International Animation Film Festival in the festival’s new Contrechamp category.
The story of this film is construct on the basis of Daisuke Igarashi’s manga which name as similar of this film. This film is issued in English by Viz Media and the story goes like:
Ruka is a girl whose dad work in an aquarium. When she was little she witness a spirit in the water of that aquarium. Now she feels attracted towards that aquarium. And at the aquarium she come across two strange boys named Umi and Sora who were brought up by dugongs. Now all three of them confess that they hear some weird calls for them from the sea. Ruka’s dad and other employees of that aquarium are vague about the experience of children’s and then they are trapped in a unknown situation where fishes are vanishing from worldwide oceans. On 21 June in Japan Ride Your Wave by Masaaki Yuasa and Science SARU was premiered and got the 9th position on its first starting week. On 23 June this film got the award at the Shanghai International Film Festival’s Golden Goblet Awards in the nomination of Best Animation Film. It had also won Excellence in Animation in Axis: The Satoshi Kon awards. And on 25 July it won the reward for being the Best Animated Feature in Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival. This film is going to be broadcast by GKIDS and the story is explained. That the creative director Masaaki Yuasa (The Night is Short Walk On, Girl, DEVILMAN crybaby) has come up with a extremely touching film that relates to his brand mark of his creativity with a story of love, sorrow and finding of individualities.
This story is about a college going student who loves to do surfing and now he had recently shifted to a little town having a seaside. One day a huge fire took place in her home and then she is saved by a fire fighter named Minato who is quite good-looking and they both deeply fall in love with each other. They were so close that they were not able to live without each other but alas Minato dies in an accident which occurs in the sea. Hinako gets so much upset and disturbed that she was not able to even have a look at the sea one day she sings a song to repeat all the beautiful memories they had spent together, and at that moment suddenly Minato come into sight in the sea. So whenever she wants to meet him she sings that particular song he appears in front of her from the water but the main question arise that will they both be together and how and why Minato has appeared again from the sea.
Cencoroll Connect is a combined film of Atsuya Uki’s first short film called Cencoroll and its sequel called Cencoroll 2. It was premiered in Japan for the first time on 29 June.
The first short anime film called Cencoroll starts when a town is attacked by a huge and dangerous monster but a girl called Yuki and his school friend named Tetsu is saved by the attacks. Tetsu have a pet mal who is a odd in some ways and it is named Cenco. The dangerous monster is under the control of another boy named Shū and from this we can see that a combat is going to take place.
The first Cencoroll anime was directed, written, illustrated, designed and animated by uki (Digimon Adventure tri., tsuritama). And on 2009 it was first broadcast worldwide in Canada’s Fantasia festival. The film was also streamed in Tokyo, Osaka, and New York at the New York Anime Film Festival.
On 4 July Cencoroll Connect was displayed on Anime Expo by Aniplex of America.
From October 18 till 20 this festival is going to be held in Los Angeles.
