High Score Girl II Episode 6: Review

[the_ad_group id="23498"]

This was very interesting episode that began laid-back, but then concluded with trampling turn of events. Akira’s behavior from the previous episode ending can be understood in this episode which makes the whole scenario very sentimental to watch.

Haruo calmly expressing his feeling towards Akira is what shocked me the most because of his shy personality, he should have been a little nervous, but he was planning it for a very long time now. Haruo at times can be really childish and foolish, but moments like these showing the mature side of Haruo is what makes it very entertaining. After all he is a child and children can act unusually.

We get to see a really funny scene when Haruo visit Miyao’s house, Miyao’s reaction was very hilarious, but it’s even funnier when all of them start the meeting in Haruo’s room and Miyao talked to Mokoto like she is the master of Makoto. Haruo confidently declares his love to Akira in front of everyone, and obviously he gets the back up from everyone and want to support them anyway possible. The imagery of Haruo’s love towards Akira was very lovely and this was the first half of the episode. The images of several game characters intensified the appeal, but most of all this moment was really important for relationship of Haruo and Akira to proceed forward. The ever so sensible Guile’s speech was very inspiring, teaching his ideas and motivating Haruo to learn how he feels and taking into action. Guile himself found affection and embrace it, same goes for other Street Fighter heroes, so can follow their footsteps? Other interesting scenes includes the one when Haruo viewing the city and recalling all the time he spent with Akira, and how much he’s been affected with her. They begin their relationships with hate, which transformed into something admiring and fun. When he is with her his emotions are worked up so much, and it just makes me so happy to listen to Haruo and admitting all of it. Could it be any sweeter!

Doi comes up with a brilliant plan and declares a Street Fighter II competition in Osaka giving Haruo a chance to express his feeling to her if he stands victor. It’s basically the same tournament they visited when they were small, where Haruo got the victory because of Akira’s device having a button problem. But he does not acknowledge his victory. He can’t shake the rivalry between then even though he loves Akira. He never actually defeated her fair and square in anything and with the chance to defeat her in the game that united them would be great. After the hysterical outbreak, it’s finally concluded.

Things didn’t stayed nice for longer. While everyone is happy because of Haruo and Akira got the permission to go for the tournament, a big twist awaited to reveal towards the end.

We came to know that the parents of Akira want her to live with them in the U.S and possibly she will be gone during the month end, season 1 showed the same thing happening. Makato was unaware about this and Akira was aware which was proved by her reaction in the end of the episode. I wonder what was the reason of her visit to Hidaka’s place? Did she go there to let her know about this or to ask about the tournament?

It was truly saddening and the scene was admirable as Makato cam to term with the fact that ignoring everything so that Akira handles was a bad idea. That was annoying and I’m happy that she realized it and feels ashamed. She adores Akira and is her well-wisher. She does not worry about the home chores or even what her parents think as they clearly do not give a crap about what their daughter wish for. Makato is certain that they will make Akira live there for the rest of her life and marry her off wherever they like. It true depressing and not fair, particularly after Haruo expressing his feeling. If this is their last moment with each other then there is no point in that if they are going to be separated for the rest of their lives

This whole scenario surely made us sad. He win it or not, he will probably admit it to her. The major issue is persuade their parents to let her do what she wants. It doesn’t matter if Makato talks on behalf of her sister or Akira take a stand for herself. However, it would be a great moment to see her speaking for herself for once. I wonder how she would do that. One thing is certain that this was reason why Moemi gave her the permission. Although, I don’t like Moemi, but this was a good decision.

I’m too sad to predict what will happen next. The crying outburst of Akira after being for such a short while with Haruo was heartbreaking. They are closer to each other than ever and their bond grew stronger. I don’t want them to stay away from each forever.
