For Fall Anime Film Looking for Magical Doremi Rescheduled

On Friday it was disclosed by the authorized website of the franchise of the brand new anime movie Looking for Magical DoReMi which is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the anime franchise Ojamajo Doremi magical girl that this fall the movie is going to be released.

In March it was declared by Toei and Toei Animation that they are going to delay the 15th May release of the movie because of the problems in production.

The story centers on the 27-year-old Tokyo office laborer Mire Yoshizuki who just came back to Japan, 22-year-old fourth-year understudy Sora Nagase who tries to be an instructor, and 20-year-old innocent, low maintenance Hiroshima okonomiyaki shop specialist and consultant Reika Kawatani. What draws together these three ladies from totally various different backgrounds is an enchantment jewel. Another Magical Story starts whenever they are bafflingly united by some coincidence and leave on an excursion.

The cast members are following:

  1. Aoi Morikawa as Sora Nagase
  2. Rena Matsui as Mire Yoshizuki
  3. Kanako Momota as Reika Kawatani
  4. Kenta Hamano as Seiya Kubo, Reika’s no-good boyfriend
  5. Shohei Miura as Ryūichi Oomiya, a college student who travels with the three heroines and likes Ojamajo Doremi
  6. Akira Ishida as Hayato Yabe, Mire’s junior at work

The new movie is being directed at Toei Animation by Junichi Sato who is also the director of the anime Ojamajo Doremi along with Yū Kamatani. Midori Kuriyama and Yoshihiko Umakoshi are also coming back from anime Ojamajo Doremi as scriptwriter and character designer concurrently and for the chief animation director Umakoshi is also ascribed. For the animation director of the movie Shōko Nakamura is ascribed and the team is being lead by Hiromi Seki as the producer.

In 1999 the primary anime series Ojamajo Doremi was originally debuted in Japan and in 2005 the airing of the heavily edited version of the series under the name Magical DoReMi was started by 4Kids in the United States.
