Demon Slayer Characters
Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro Kamado is the protagonist of Demon Slayer. He joined the Demon Slayer Corps in search of a cure that would return his sister, Nezuko Kamado, to human form.
One of Tanjiro’s most remarkable traits is that he can put himself in the shoes of others, even Demons, which gives him pause before he takes violent action. The downside of this respite is that the Demons have been known to use his leniency as an opening to regroup and resume the fight.
On the other hand, as time passes, he matures and adopts a more calculated and stringent approach to making decisions.
He must treat his enemy with respect and honor because of the valor he showed in protecting the defenseless, whether they be good humans or evil demons.
Tanjiro is a human who, despite his seemingly kind and polite surface, is harboring a simmering blaze of resentment and vengeance within them. As most people do when they first begin the process of transitioning into a demon, Tanjiro appeared to be completely mindless in his new form.
He carried himself in a manner befitting a vicious beast, viciously attacking anyone who happened to be in his way. Even his allies and close friends were subjected to it in some way or another. Nezuko was the only person he would not harm, however.
After Tanjiro’s entire family, with the exception of Nezuko, was killed by demons, the level of tragedy that Tanjiro experienced was nothing short of tragic. As a result, he was instantly transformed into a sympathetic figure and a nearly ideal protagonist in the hearts of viewers.
It is abundantly clear that Tanjiro is destined for greater things, as evidenced by the epic battles he has already been a part of as well as the latent promise that resides within him, and one can only hope that he and his sister get to live the lives they deserved before the tragedy hit their families.
Nezuko Kamado
Nezuko Kamado is the deuteragonist of Demon Slayer. She is Tanjiro Kamado’s younger sister, a Demon, and one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family. She was formerly a human, but Muzan Kibutsuji attacked her and turned her into a demon as a result of the attack.
She is a young woman who is short, has fair complexion, and has large, prominent fangs. Her nails are long and claw-like, and they fade to a red color where they tip. She wears a light pink kimono patterned with hemp leaves, a paler pink lining, a red and white checkered hanhaba obi, and an orange threaded obi layered on top.
The first iteration of Nezuko’s human personality was that of a sweet and sympathetic young lady who, much like her older brother Tanjiro, put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was also a dutiful older sister to her younger brothers, constantly putting their interests ahead of her own and putting in extra effort to ensure their happiness.
Nezuko is unafraid to put her life in danger in order to protect those she cares about from demons, even after she has been reborn. In the wake of Tanjiro’s apologies, Nezuko’s compassionate demeanor and laid-back demeanor are observed to confirm this reality.
She is a fan favorite due to the dynamics surrounding the character, which encourages the audience to wish for a positive outcome for her.
Kanao Tsuyuri
A crucial figure in the storyline is Kanao Tsuyuri. She is a Demon Slayer for the Demon Slayer Corps and the adopted daughter of Shinobu and Kanae Kocho, who raised her as their own.
Kanao is a young woman with soft, wide eyes that are framed by long, pink-lilac eyelashes. Her adoptive sister Kanae Kocho’s pink and green butterfly ornament is fastened to the ponytail of her thin black hair on the right side of her head. Two chin-length strands of her fringe curl downward from behind each of her ears, leaving her fringe to be straight.
Due to the trauma she has experienced in the past, Kanao is an unsure and reserved girl when she first meets the Kocho sisters. She started to avoid making her own decisions and repressed her emotions as a form of defense.
Kanao made the ultimate decision on her own, against Shinobu and Kanae’s wishes despite her lack of emotion or ambition, suggesting that her will had been advancing all along.
Kanao eventually develops the confidence to express her feelings and desires more openly, as evidenced by her relief when Tanjiro makes a full recovery, her expression of desire to train with Shinobu, and her shock and grief at Shinobu’s plan to defeat Doma.
During the final battle with Muzan Kibutsuji, Kanao was later seen to have fully recovered her ability to express her feelings freely and make her own judgments.
She is the ideal fit for the Demon Slayer universe due to the character’s cryptic setup and her compelling emotional narrative.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Demon Slayer features a number of important characters, including Zenitsu Agatsuma.
Pale in complexion, Zenitsu is a young man with slanted, fearful-looking eyes that transition from a light brown to a golden yellow. His short, yellow hair falls in unkempt bangs in front of his ears and is squarely cut off at the ends, where it turns a darker orange color.
Zenitsu comes across as a liar when he says that his dangerous job as a Demon Slayer is the reason he doesn’t have much time left to live. Despite his strength, he has a low sense of worth and even feels unworthy, as seen by the fact that he couldn’t believe he killed a Demon and thought Shoichi was the one responsible, despite the fact that the latter was a little child with no unique Demon-slaying skills.
Despite these shortcomings, Zenitsu always makes an effort to live up to the expectations that people have of him and will give it his all when called upon. He has a great deal of respect for both his teammates and his late coach Jigoro Kuwajima.
One of the show’s most unpredictable characters is Zenitsu, who at first glance appears to be no more than a typical comic relief figure. Before showing off how his breathing technique is really superb.
The fact that he only really uses his fighting skills after falling unconscious shows how well his unconscious has been trained to handle such enormous challenges.
Inosuke Hashibira
Inosuke Hashibira is one of the most important characters in the game Demon Slayer. He is Tanjiro Kamado’s traveling companion and comrade. In addition, he serves as a Demon Slayer with the Demon Slayer Corps.
Inosuke is a young man who is of average height and has pale skin. In comparison to other people his age, he has an extremely toned and muscular figure, particularly around his abdomen and arms. In stark contrast, he has a face that is stunningly feminine, with large, wide eyes that are framed by an amazing array of long lashes, dark to pale green irises, thin eyebrows, and what appears to be a short, well-mannered jaw. His eyes are big and wide, and his irises range from dark to light green.
His short, jet-black hair drapes far above his shoulders and fades to blue at the tips. It creates an uncontrolled, uneven fringe that falls slightly over his eyes and puffs out before bending and thinning towards his forehead. His eyebrows are small and angular, and his skin is pale.
He is a young man with a quick temper and a haughty attitude who thinks he is the most skilled fighter. This causes him to sometimes put himself in unnecessary risk because it gives the impression that he overestimates his strengths in comparison to those of his opponent and refuses to accept the possibility of losing.
As a result of Inosuke’s upbringing by boars, it has been seen that he has no understanding of normal human conduct. For example, he consistently believes that people who touch him are attempting to harm him, and he does not appear to value the sympathy that other people show toward him.
In spite of all, the character stands apart from the rest of the cast, which contributes to the fans’ favorable opinions of him.
Muzan Kibutsuji
The main enemy to be overcome in Demon Slayer is Muzan Kibutsuji. He is the first Demon and the creator of all the other Demons. All other Demons descended from him.
Muzan was turned into a demon a millennium ago when he was searching for a cure for his own fatal condition, and ever since then, his goal has been to live without the fear of dying and achieve absolute immortality.
He endeavors to do this by overcoming his vulnerability to sunlight, which he is currently doing in one of two ways: either by searching for the Blue Spider Lily or by creating more Demons in the hope that one of them will one day be able to overcome their vulnerability to sunlight. He is attempting to accomplish this goal by overcoming his vulnerability.
Muzan is a heartless, vicious, and extremely intelligent individual. He doesn’t think anyone he’s met has anything going for them, and he certainly doesn’t respect the people who work under him. The only time he shows any emotion is when his vision of greatness is being realized or when his followers have completely submitted to his will.
His acute narcissism, his pettiness, and his fixation with becoming the perfect person are the defining attributes that best describe him. Given that he has had over a thousand years to live and watch, with few genuine impediments, it is absolutely likely that he will have an extreme case of egocentrism.
He has almost no concerns about almost anything, the primary one being that he does not want to stroll around in the heat because of how uncomfortable it makes him.
It is not hard to comprehend why the followers have such a soft spot for this peculiar antagonist given that there are so few characters that are comparable to him. Considering the novel nature of the plot, he is the ideal antagonist.
Aoi Kanzaki
Even those who choose to stay behind enemy lines can still contribute. When Aoi Kanzaki’s family was killed by demons, she sought out the assistance of the Demon Slayer Corps and ultimately proved worthy of membership by passing the organization’s rigorous Final Selection examination. Although Aoi has the necessary training to enter the battlefield, she is not a fighter and avoids it at all costs. Instead, she lives in the Butterfly Mansion and tends to the wounds of her fellow warriors.
Aoi first appeared in the Rehabilitation Training Arc, when she assisted in the recovery of Tanjiro and Zenitsu. Soon after, she instructed a select group of current Demon Slayer Corps recruits. Due to the rarity of supporting characters in Demon Slayer, Aoi stands out as an interesting exception. She avoided conflict on purpose, although Aoi occasionally expresses regret about her decision to do so. Aoi still has a purpose within the Butterfly Mansion, and it’s unrealistic to expect her to be always ready to plunge into life-or-death circumstances just because she joined the Demon Slayer Corps.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki
Oyakata-sama is the title given to Kagaya Ubuyashiki by his subordinates and coworkers, and he holds the position of commander of the 97th Demon Slayer Corps. In addition to that, he is the patriarch of the Ubuyashiki family.
Kagaya is a young lady who has light skin and dark hair that is shoulder length or longer. He has a mark on his body that is a curse that is causing him to slowly die and making his skin look rotten. The mark is spreading down his face and covering his eyes, which has caused him to go blind.
By the time he passed away, the curse had already taken hold all over his body, rendering it nearly impossible for him to move. At the time of Kagaya’s passing, Muzan said that he had a smile similar to that of the Buddha.
In everyday situations, he dresses in a black kimono and a long white haori with a pink and purple misty design that runs across the lower back.
Kagaya has a calm demeanor, and he demonstrates genuine concern for the Demon Slayers. In fact, he treats them as if they were his own children. He has not lost the ability to perform under intense scrutiny and is honest about his shortcomings.
His willingness to accept Tanjiro and Nezuko’s situation and even maintain their cause while other opposed demonstrates his objectivity and lack of prejudice, despite the fact that he gives the impression of being lenient.
His speech is normally quite smooth and polite, but it is also very tactful. He uses phrases and tones of voice in such a way that the individual he is speaking with is able to pay attention to what he is saying.
Fans are drawn to this one-of-a-kind character because he is such an influential figure in the narrative, and the way he behaves has a significant bearing on the events that unfold.
Tamayo
Tamayo is a supporting character who plays a significant role in the story and was featured during the Asakusa Arc. Tamayo is a demon who also seems to be a doctor. She is able to move freely between both worlds because of her abilities, which she uses both to protect herself and to assist others. Her existence outside of Muzan’s influence demonstrates that demons are capable of leading positive lives, and Tamayo does not dash Tanjiro’s hope that he may be able to find a means to transform Nezuko back into a human being.
Tamayo has not been seen since the conclusion of her debut story arc in the anime; however, she will make a return appearance in the next Swordsmith Village epic. Although often quite nice, this character is capable of being scary when the situation calls for it, and she is not a weakling by any stretch of the imagination.
Genya Shinazugawa
Genya is another another guy with a horrible past; he was present when his demonic mother murdered his brothers. In addition to this, he witnessed his sole surviving brother, Sanemi, murder his mother. Genya is a powerful warrior who has the ability to absorb the powers of demons. Despite the fact that he is unable to employ Breathing Techniques, he can absorb other demon talents.
Because of his fiery temper, Genya isn’t the easiest Demon Slayer to collaborate with, at least in the beginning phases of the anime. This is especially true for the character design. Genya, on the other hand, develops into a friendlier person over the course of the series.
All Hashiras From Kimetsu No Yaiba
Giyu Tomioka
Demon Slayer features Giyu Tomioka as a pivotal supporting character in the series. In addition to being a Demon Slayer for the Demon Slayer Corps, he is also the new Water Hashira.
Giyu is a young man who stands at a respectable height, has a solid frame, and has pale complexion. He presents himself as unimpressed or emotionless virtually all of the time.
His socks are the same shade of cyan as the rest of his uniform, and he wears a pair of white zori with dark blue straps. His leg wraps are buttoned white, and he wears a pair of white zori with dark blue straps. He is dressed as a Demon Slayer.
Giyu always has an expression of stoic contentment on his face. His manner is restrained, and he possesses a strong sense of justice; nonetheless, he has little sympathy for people who are ignorant of their own failings and who fritter away their lives.
Even though Tanjiro Kamado’s doggedness made it possible for Nezuko Kamado to live, Tanjiro kills other demons without remorse and shows no care for them; this is typical of most Demon Slayers. Nezuko Kamado was able to survive because of Tanjiro.
Giyu is a caring and protective being, despite the fact that he presents himself as cold and austere to those he cares about and considers to be his mates. This is demonstrated for the first time when he puts his life in danger to save Tanjiro and Nezuko by threatening to perform seppuku if one of them ever consumed a human being.
Fans are interested in seeing more of the character since they found his personality to be memorable and want to know more about him.
Kyojuro Rengoku
He is also a supporting character in the Demon Slayer series. In addition to being a Demon Slayer for the Demon Slayer Corps, he also holds the title of being the Flame Hashira.
Kyojuro is a young adult who stands a good height and has a muscular build. His forked brows are black, his eyes are a golden brown that fades to a reddish brown, and his pupils are white. His long, bright yellow hair is highlighted in crimson at the side.
Kyojuro is a character who exudes a joyfully eccentric personality, and he is very passionate about the responsibilities that come with being a Hashira. As a result of his arduous training and stringent discipline, he was affable, had an unblemished moral character, and exhibited great technique and swordsmanship.
Kyojuro is a staunch warrior who kept his mother’s code of morality and values. The most significant of these is his determination that everyone born strong have a duty to defend the weak. Kyojuro’s code of morality and values was passed down to him by his mother.
His one-of-a-kind breathing method makes him stand out from the crowd and makes him a highly interesting figure to watch for admirers.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
The Wind Hashira appears to be completely deranged and is definitely not someone who should be trifled with. The maniacal quality of his glare gives the impression that it would be sufficient to stop any opponent in their tracks.
There is no way to know for sure how much damage this Hashira will be able to inflict with his attacks; one can only speculate. Fans of the manga may already be aware of this, but it is the possibility that Shinazugawa will appear in the anime and the visuals that have fans thrilled to see him in action.
Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu gives off the impression of being the most approachable and likeable of all the members of the Demon Slayer Corps at first glance. She appears to be up for a good laugh at any time and constantly has a smile on her face. However, this is really a coping technique that she uses to temper her overwhelming hatred for demons as a result of the death of her sister, Kanae Kocho. This hatred stems from the fact that Kanae Kocho was a demon.
Shinobu is capable of unfathomable savagery, both with a sword and with her words. A few well-placed lines from this Demon Slayer persona are all it takes to convert even the most stalwart of warriors to a helpless puddle of mush. While she is doing it, she will also have a grin on her face.
Tengen Uzui
The tragic backstory of Tengen is all the more striking for its lack of focus on demons. It was believed that Tengen, raised by his harsh ninja father, would always put his own needs before those of others. Tengen was tricked by his parent into killing several of his siblings, and he fled the nest to forge his own way.
Because of his difficult upbringing and his efforts to distance himself from his father’s influence, Tengen’s personality is a little all over the place.
Mitsuri Kanroji
The Love Hashira stands out as one of the most original and intriguing characters featured in the show. Despite the fact that this Demon Slayer only made a brief debut, she is going to make a significant influence that is going to be pretty remarkable.
Fans of anime can’t wait to watch her use her abilities in combat, which promises to be an impressively eye-catching display. After all, the very concept of Love Breathing — if one can even call it that — sounds completely different from anything else that the show has ever presented before.
Obanai Iguro
Obanai Iguro is known as the Serpent Hashira is a strong indicator of his strength. This character’s appearance gives the impression that not much is known about him, which is consistent with the limited information that is available.
His abilities have not yet been disclosed, but the possibility of using Serpent Breathing sounds like an exciting adventure. Nobody but themselves knows how his personality will develop over life; all anyone can do is wait and watch.
Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro Tokito, also known as the Mist Hashira, does not exhibit a lot of outward emotion, which can make him come across as uncaring or uninterested. Muichiro seems to be trapped inside his own brain the most of the time because he frequently wanders out on his own.
Muichiro’s history provides insight into the formation of his personality, despite the fact that his attitude does not necessarily make him the most approachable of characters. All of this derives from a tragic event in his personal life, which robbed him of the memories and context necessary to channel and control his hatred.
Gyomei Himejima
Due to the fact that Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, has only played a supporting role in the Demon Slayer anime, the story has not delved too far into his character just yet. Gyomei’s relevance is certainly going to expand in the upcoming season (or the one after that) as the anime gets to the “Hashira Training Arc,” despite the fact that the character did not play a role in Demon Slayer’s previous epic, which was titled the “Entertainment District arc.”
Gyomei is massive, stoic, powerful, and careful all at the same time. Even though he is committed to the Demon Slayer Corps, he does not put his whole faith in the others that work beside him.
