CG Anime Movie Stand By Me Doraemon Gets Sequel Movie in August

On Thursday it was declared by TOHO that the 2014 CG anime movie Stand By Me Doraemon is going to have a follow up movie named Stand By Me Doraemon 2 that will release on August 7 in Japan. To direct the movie Ryūichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki came back from the first movie and Yamazaki is again going to write the script.

The movie’s story will mainly focus on the 2000 movie Doraemon: Obāchan no Omoide of the franchise, but extra aspects will be added in the movie consisting the love story of Shizuka and Nobita that was also there in the last movie Stand By Me Doraemon.

The first movie Stand By Me Doraemon was the primary 3D CG of the franchise and ultimately it generated 8.38 billion yen in Japan and all over 10 billion yen globally.

On March 6 a separate 2D anime movie of the franchise named Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Shin Kyoryū will be released in Japan.
