Overall Plot
The series adapts Kubo`s manga with the main story arcs and introduces anime-exclusive ones. In Karakura Town, high school student Ichigo Kurosaki becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki stakes her life to protect him from a Hollow.
He steps in for her despite his initial reluctance, and it’s during this moment that they learn that a couple of their students have supernatural abilities and are spiritually aware: Ury Ishida, a Quincy survivor, employs spiritual particles; Orihime Inoue has a group of guardian spirits known as Shun Shun Rikka; and Yasutora Sado has a hollowed-out arm that gives him strength comparable to the Hollows.
By employing the Hgyoku, a rumored potent drug that transforms Hollows into partially Soul Reapers, Aizen intends to subdue the Soul Society.
The Espada collectively have strength comparable to Soul Reaper commanders, including Aizen, Gin Ichimaru, and Kaname Tsen. When the Hgyoku rejects its master and the Soul Reapers defeat the Espadas, Ichigo, who had been taught by his father Isshin, another exiled Soul Reaper, gives up his power to seal Aizen away.
However, their commander Kugo Ginjo, a Fullbringer and former Substitute Soul Reaper, is using it as a pretense to gain his powers and give them all more power. When Ichigo earns the trust of the Soul Society, his Soul Reaper abilities are restored. Ichigo returns to his role as a Substitute Soul Reaper after aiding other Soul Reapers in defeating Ginjo’s gang.

Bleach Characters
Brief discussion of some main characters of Bleach Anime are given below.
Ichigo Kurosaki
Ichigo Kurosaki serves as the lead character. Ichigo, a tall high school student with orange hair, unwittingly absorbs much of Rukia Kuchiki’s abilities and ends up becoming a “substitute Soul Reaper.” At first, his cynicism makes him resentful of the obligation, but over time, he grows to accept and appreciate the strength his Soul Reaper abilities offer him.
Rukia Kuchiki, the first character Kubo developed, didn’t appear like a lead character when he was making the manga series, so he invented Ichigo to be the series protagonist.
Rukia Kuchiki
Rukia Kuchiki, who is in charge of Karakura Town’s hollow elimination. When she breaks into his house without realizing he can see her, she first encounters Ichigo. Rukia saving Ichigo and giving him her powers further exacerbates their connection. Without it, Rukia is unable to rejoin the Soul Society.
She enrolls at Ichigo’s high school, disguises herself as an ordinary human, and lives in his closet while training him how to take her place as a Soul Reaper. She does this by using a gigai she bought from Kisuke Urahara’s shop. Kubo developed the first female character in the series, Rukia, and he chose to use her design for all the other Soul Reapers.
Orihime Inoue
Orihime had a crush on Ichigo from the start, but after witnessing Ichigo’s altruistic desire to save his loved ones, she begins to fall in love with him. She had been an orphan since she was three years old when her older brother Sora took her from their abusive parents’ house and reared her on his own.
Orihime later passed away in an accident when he was a middle school student. She doesn’t have spiritual abilities at first, but early in the story, she starts to become spiritually conscious. Later, by rejecting the past, she gains the god-like capacity to alter reality.
Renji Abarai
Renji Abarai is a member of Squad 6 of the Gotei 13 and a Soul Reaper. As he was dispatched to the human world to locate and return Rukia to the Soul Society, he first played an adversarial role. He initially devotes his life to beating Ichigo, but midway through the Soul Society story line, he teams up with him to save Rukia.
Since then, he has emerged as a significant protagonist, Kurosaki’s constant foe as well as ally. Zabimaru serves as his weapon throughout the entire series. In both English and Japanese, Renji is voiced by Wally Wingert.
Uryū Ishida
Ury Ishida is a Quincy who is descended from a tribe of priest-like, hollow-hunting archers that are almost extinct and were once foes of the Soul Reapers. He is a series antagonist who holds a bitter hatred for all Soul Reapers, particularly Ichigo. Over time, he develops a new perspective on Ichigo and eventually turns into both a valued ally and a cordial rival.
As a Quincy, Ury has the magical ability to collect reishi, or invisible particles from the atmosphere. Once gathered, these particles can be used to power different magical spells and superhuman abilities as well as to form spirit-energy constructions, most notably a bow and arrow. Derek Stephen Prince provides the English and Japanese voices for Ury.
