Heya Camp△

Heya Camp△ is an as pleasant slice of life as its anime companion Yuru Camp△. In this series, Outdoor Activities Club fascinated us with their delightful exploration in Yamanashi Prefecture. Nadeshiko Kagamihara’s involvement in Kids’ Stamp Rally of Yamanashi was even more fascinating as she explores more about her new prefecture. Aoi Inuyama and Chiaki Oogaki also accompany her to have fun. Their amusing journey begins in Yamanashi with interesting things to see and taste. In this article, we will be discussing why you should not miss this amazing anime.

Heya Camp△

Heya Camp△ shows a lot of fascinating places and delicious meals that can be discovered in the Yamanashi prefecture. Sometimes it might look like an indirect promotion to increase tourism, but it looks fun and soothing a journey with the cool company and also educate us a lot about that particular prefecture. The places that were covered include Kachi Kachi Ropeway, Narusawa Ice Cave, Lake Kawaguchi, and Tenjo-Yama Park and they all look the places no one can get bored in and even the food looks tasty like different kind of houtou soups and Mt. Fuji-shaped curry which makes it even more appealing and of course different because we rarely see this kind of things especially this part of Japan in anime.

Since it is a slice of life, it is heavily focused on its characters and Heya Camp△ has some very interesting characters. Although the characters might not be very deep or developed but there some moments that and the appearance of these characters is so adorable that adds to the joy of this anime. Aoi and Chiaki’s encounter as kids was one of the best moments and then the surprise attack moment was also very entertaining.

It’s conveniently short and you might end up wanting more but the length of all episodes are not too lengthy and the duration is sufficient enough to capture all the fun and adventurous moments to make us feel good and high spirited without getting us bored at any point and that also makes it easier to watch especially if you like to watch multiple series at the same time. The duration is adequate for a slice of life like this. It won’t be a problem to watch these short length episodes in the middle of other anime for some relaxation or even if you like to watch series all night, you might end the whole series without feeling guilty.

It’s good to see Shimarin getting more screen time and not just that but an entire episode was more focused on her. There is no denying that there were many moments where Rin ‘Shimarin was missing in the series despite being a very important character in the series and apart from being the significant character she is also loved by many fans as the chemistry between Rin and Nadeshiko is very interesting. But then we gat see more of Aoi and Chiaki and there is not too much that can be summed up in such a short 12 episodes so it’s understandable. What we got to see was enough to make it fun to watch especially bonus moments like Shimarin’s grandpa as an awesome motorcyclist.

Like we mentioned above Heya Camp is way too short and you should be aware of it before you start watching it. It is not the sequel of Yuru Camp and doesn’t continue anything from it mainly because of it 3 minutes 12 episodes. Although, the story and the scenes are pretty much sufficiently keeping the length and no of episodes in mind and all credit goes to C-Station crew but if short stories are something that doesn’t intrigue you, then you should probably skip it.

The last thing that might seem disappointing for some fans is regarding the camp part as Heya Camp△ is a bit contrary to what the name suggests as it does not have any camping scenes in the anime. Although there is a camping scene in school that trio goes out on but there are no much fun thins related to camping shown in detail in this anime like the arrangement of the tent, camping gossips, looking at various campgrounds that we have enjoyed watching in Yuru Camp. These things are missing in this short series that have been replaced by other exciting stuff like exploring new places, enjoying delightful food. You may think that it probably ruined the real essence of the show but that’s not the case but still, you might end being disappointed if that is the only reason for you to watch this series.

Heya Camp△

All in all, it can be said that Heya Camp△ is a loveable series and fun to watch and does not disappoint when it comes to summarizing a bit of the most enjoyable part that we experienced in Yuru Camp△. It’s a relaxing slice of life mini-series. It might not be one of the best series of this season and might disappoint some fans due to the contradicting title as there no such detailed showcase camping stuff in this series but it can make those fans happy and satisfied we are eagerly waiting for the second season of Yuru Camp or those who want to watch a less intense, calming and lively slice of life short series. If you haven’t watched it and you like to watch a short relaxing series then give it a shot, you won’t regret it.
