The concept of Chuunibyou became quite familiar after reading Umineko no Naku Koro ni and then with the airing of Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shita which was extremely amusing. This cute boy theme is hilarious and exciting in its own way. For those who don’t know much about Chuunibyou, here’s a brief explanation about it. It refers to certain behavioral change or change in the personality of young adults. For example, acting in certain manner that makes them feel different from others.

Although the design and personalities of the characters are quite common but somewhat they makes it look refreshing. It’s quite unusual to see this such kind of characters getting together but their delusions are enough to point out what’s common in them. It’s quite hard to remember their names so we will refer these characters with color names.

Chuubyou Gekihatsu Boy
Starting with Red who is a sporty guy with a lot of energy but also dumb with a lot of stupid ideas and silly reflexes. But he is also nice and appears like a Pokémon trainer with hyperactive imagination. Yellow is extremely funny. Black is the most interesting one. He is dark haired guy with glasses and according to the delusions he has been cursed by dark magician in past life. Purple is a bit mysterious, his design look good. Pink is awesome. She is simple and her design suits her personality as she prefers a harmonious school life. She is the only one who seems genuine as her response to the foolishness of boys is quite funny.

Not all joke in the episode makes you laugh as few things seems silly and ridiculous but then the show is all about their absurdity.  It may not be liked by many but the hilarious things they say while being delusional can cover up those flaws. It may also make you laugh out loud. For example introductory scene of Black, Red jumping from the second floor and so on.

Chuubyou Gekihatsu Boy
The voice actors have done great job giving life to these hilarious characters, pacing is also good but the character art could have been better. The animation is average. Although we can’t say that it is better than what we expected but we can still give it a chance by watching a few more episodes to see how it goes.
