Production I.G Reveals Shika no Ō Anime Film’s Staff, September 18 Opening

On Tuesday the major team members and September 18 starting date of the anime movie version of medical romantic novel series Shika no Ō by Nahoko Uehashi was disclosed. The movie is being directed by Masashi Ando along with Masayuki Miyaji. The characters are also being illustrated by Masashi Ando and he is also the head director of animation. The script is being written by Taku Kishimoto.

In September 2014 the novels was issued by Kadokawa in two volumes concurrently and then in June and July 2017 the series was set out in four volumes. The novel has more than 1.5 million copies in print form.

The books focus on Van, the leader of a gathering of warriors who expected to bite the dust battling for their territories against a huge domain hoping to fuse their home into its realm. In English the first two volumes of Moribito was issued by North American publisher Scholastic. In 2014 Uehashi was awarded with the Hans Christian Andersen Author Award.
