The show is getting emotional now. But this episode was beautiful and enchanting. The best thing about the fantasy anime are the beautiful and mesmerizing visuals. Like in this episode the dark forest looked so gorgeous with blooming flowers and plants and the colorful creatures. It’s always refreshing to watch this.

Golem and Somali continued their journey in the desert area known as Anthole City and as always they are out of money and resources. Golem tries to get money by selling some things but he was advised to do any job to earn money quickly. The character we met in this episode include a horned rabbit and his family that own a restaurant. They just realized that they do not enough staff because one of their staff is not well. Golem takes this as an opportunity to earn money and offered his help and Somali finds a friend who is the son of owner.

I like it when Somali find someone of her age to play with. It was so nice to see them playing and do things that kids enjoy. It brought smile on our face when they chat about themselves like Somali told stories about how she plays hide and seek with Golem. It was a very short scene where they connect but it was refreshing. In this episode Somali wonders what their journey is all about when Kikila asks her to visit them again after their journey. We never thought about this. We all know what their journey is all about but Somali has no idea what they are travelling for. She thinks about their goal and why they are doing it? Hat they will do once they are finished? She was confused as she started thinking about it. But she realized and that she will be separated from Golem after this journey (which is correct) She became and anxious and cried thinking about how he is earning money so he can end this journey as soon as possible.

It was painful to watch that scene. I feeling sad for Somali as she cried. She adore Golem more than anything. When Kikila asks her about her relation with Golem, she tells him that he is her father because he keeps her safe, play with her, help her fall sleep. She loves her dad and can’t think of leaving him. Poor Somali.

So Kikila cheers her up by telling her about the underground area having a special flower called the yozame flower. The legend of the town is that if you bring up a yozame flower to the surface alive that it’ll grant a wish. It perks Somali up immediately and the children quickly head down, ignoring Golem’s warning of going elsewhere. Kikila tells her that usually kids aren’t allowed alone because of all the creatures that rest there, which is a huge red flag. Everything is normal and fine, and they were lucky enough to spot a whole swarm of butterflies that led to them to a whole field of the yozame flowers. And just their luck, when Somali picks the largest one a giant mushroom monster attacks her. That is, until a wolf character we’ve seen a couple times rescues her. But I’m getting nervous because from the way he spoke, he might know that she’s a human? I’m not sure what’s going to happen but I’m scared. Dammit Somali, what the hell did Golem tell you about wandering off? Somali not being around Golem always makes me so anxious.

So Kikila tries to change her mood and divert her attention towards an interesting topic about a flower, called yozame in an underground area. He tells her that it is a special flower and according to the legend if someone manages to bring it on the surface without letting it die then it will fulfill a wish. It make Somali happy and then they move downwards although Golem told them to stay nearby. Kikila informs her that children are not permitted to go there sue to some creatures that reside there. Nothing dangerous occurred and they found the field of yozame flower with the help of butterflies. Unluckily Somali was attacked by a huge mushroom as soon as she picks the biggest flower. Although she was saved by a wolf who is familiar but we can sense a threat here as it seems like that wolf knows about Somali. She shouldn’t have gone there without Golem.

Somali to Mori no Kamisama Episode 3: Review

The episode was sweet and relaxing but a little sadder than the previous episodes. This show is fun to watch and fascinating because of its sweet and nice story and beautiful visuals and this episode ended with a cliffhanger and now I can’t wait to watch the next episode
